Tripped out spiralling synths and an epic late night wash of sound from Daniel Lopatin.
Delicately nuanced ambient noise from the ends of the earth...
Harrowing and lucid darkness from Kevin Drumm's amazing Imperial Distortion.
Deeply narcotic mindtrip - somewhere between Tangerine Dream and Popol Vuh...
Doom ambience in a rare moment of quietude from these extreme noise mongers...
Kosmiche night music from an august electronic magician.
Lynchian scene changes and rainy day atmospherics...

A seminal masterpiece of ghostly Berlin-style dub reduction.
A modern classic of escapist drones and widescreen arctic ambience. Spine chilling stuff.
What Vangelis might sound like if he had suffered memory loss while writing the Bladerunner soundtrack.
Spellbinding impressionist psyche-noise textures.
Subtly manipulated field recording genius of epic proportions.
Other-worldly chamber music with a darkly sinister edge.
Sci-fi soundtrack tones and ungodly drones from two of the most brilliant minds in the avant-garde.

Very nice, but where is the Burial?

“Perfect for murky climes”
Nice job. Great selection for staring out the window into the gathering gloom of a winter's evening (at least for those of in the northern latitudes). All these artists are great, but Kevin Drumm kind of takes the ribbon in this one, eh?

“Burial”
I also thought Burial when I read this selection title. But that would be a bit obvious I guess.

“City at night?”
Compelling but strange selection! City at night? Chris Watson taped Vatnajokull the biggest iceberg in Iceland 1000 miles away from any 'city'. Biosphere or Geir Jensen composes in the north of Norway near the polar circle in one of the remotest places in Europe. So, city at night? I would have said plainly night.

“Burial Shmurial”
I have a different take from the above posters re: Burial. As in perfectly happy he's not included in this mix. No slag intended, it's just that Burial is quite over-represented in most quarters, on top of everyone's darlings list, so why not open the floor to some other equally (if not more) deserving artists. This is a great mix, whether enjoyed in the Arctic Circle where Jenssen supposedly created his contribution, or in some urban setting after dark.
