“14 tracks deep into Move D”

David Moufang is a producer who's been involved with numerous labels, projects and collaborations since the debut release on his own Source imprint back in 1994. His stock has been in ascendance recently thanks to the re-emergence of House music, Detroit Techno and Disco edits - three strands he has uniquely and effortlessly brought together over the last 15 years, while high profile releases for Workshop and Smallville, among many other labels, has also brought his work to the attention of a new generation of listeners. But there's a whole world of more complex and unexpected material in the Move D archives and this selection offers a taste of this producer's rich, influential and ongoing legacy. From the midnight jazz collaboration of the Conjoint project to the classic House of the Kunststoff album, all the way to his more recent work together with Benjamin Brunn, these 14 tracks focus on the deeper end of the Moufang catalogue and will hopefully serve as a good introduction for newcomers curious about the fuss, as well as offering up some lesser known gems for seasoned followers already under the Move D spell...

“Moved”

Definitely good work from MOVE D! Solid production and hypnotic rhythms. Where's the black label compost stuff though? "Your Rolling Hills" should be here!

“Recognition”

Move D has been producing so much brilliant material for so long (why nothing from FAX out of interest?) so it's good to see you giving him some recognition. One of my absolute favourite artists - keep 'em coming.

“There you go again”

There you go again Boomkat, surgically widening my ear holes via exposure to new and mind expanding music I didn't know before. Had heard just one Move D track on a prior occasion - Beyond the Machine, I think - and never took my interest in Move D beyond that. But this selection really asserts this man's brilliance. Will have to delve deeper. Thanks again for your never ending lessons in modern musical appreciation. p.s. When do I get my "14 Tracks Tuning Into Shortwave Radio" selection? :-)
