It's been Zomby's year, his early 90's 'ardkore appropriations pressing our buttons righteous style.
That valve-organ bit that comes in towards the end just kills us every time...
DJ Rupture, Matt Shadetek and Guyana's Jahdan Blakkamoore blazin' it up.
Trim on furious, mesmerising form...
Woozy genius from a hot tip for 2009 - Dorian Concept.
Archival julglist hardcore from this Modern Love offshoot label...
Wunderkid Ramandanman paying some dues to the legendary riddim styles of Photek.

The return of Mark Stewart with deep, spacious, reverberating tech-narcosis.
A repeating, strobing synth riff, morphed, modulated and shattered at the hands of Peter Reberg.
Possibly the remix of the year, uniting the unravvelled beats of Flylo with the astral funk of Joker.
hanging between halfstep shimmies and divebombing bass with a blue mood...
exploring the grey area between Bristolian steppers dub and Berlin style dub techno...
Teasing out a brilliantly uplifting 313 riff over constantly shifting percussion, Detroit styles.
Sublime auditory fog from one of the finest albums released by the amazing Touch label this year.

“Thankyou ”
Your 14 tracks concept has had the biggest impact on my listening tastes this year by a mile. It has consistently opened my ears to music I simply wouldnt be aware of and made me a major fan of modern classical (the chello and piano selections were 2 of the my favourites) as well as the many bass / dubstep variations you have brought to my attention. Bought the first 2 best of 2008 selections and I'll be getting this one when i get home. I look forward some more incredible music. Thankyou.

“Zomby”
I'm not normally a negative person, but the Zomby track on here is weeeeeeeeak. It knocks a chunk out of an otherwise very good selection.
sorry.
