“14 Tracks: Ruff 2 Smooth, Bass & Funky”

On a Funky, Bass-heavy flex this week, we've rounded up 14 crucial rollers from scene veterans and fresh-faced youngers alike. As the sound continues to develop we take a broad overview, checking the virulent influence of Dutch House on the likes of Tickles and Funkystepz, or European Tech on MA1, DVA and Altered Natives, while Pangaea, Zed Bias and Vibezin keep building on the principles of JA soundsystem culture in real deadly fashion. The melting pot of the UK House sounds is covered, from Walton's road-fresh ruffige to the overlarge production of T. Williams' and Hardhouse Banton's big room power moves, with a rogue offering from Presk showing the return influence upon their Dutch and European counterparts. But borders aside, this is just a heavyweight stack of club trax primed for the dancefloor, so you know what to do!
