This time on 14tracks:

“14 tracks: Kafkaesque”

Introspective, surreal and menacing, these tracks play out a maze of sensory and emotive manipulations, with emphasis on affective adjustments to ambient space, humidity, temperature and texture. We engage with an exclusive digital track (previously only available on vinyl) taken from Leyland Kirby's 'Eager To Tear Apart The Stars', before encountering 'Arrakis' from Roly Porter's monolithic 'Aftertime' LP, and an electric storm from Cologne's Magazine collective. The pressure alternates to a sticky inland humidity with Mark Fell & Peter Rehberg's abstract riddim trip 'Zikir' and the surreal, layered field recordings of Ezekiel Honig, reaching the pensively trippy avant-techno of 'Kafkatrax 3.1'. Any clear resolutions continue to elude us with a standout moment from the recent Roll The Dice album, while Julia Holter's breathtaking 'The Falling Age' peers into an ethreal Lynchian otherworld, shoring us up in the hyperreal electro-acoustic environs of New York's Nickolas Mohanna. Still probing, we visit the evocative synth architecture of Walter Schnaffs' 'Phillips Pavillion' and detach from reality with the eerie library themes of ADR's 'Post PC', into the dystopian electronic synaesthesia of Area Forty_One and Jim Haynes. Stick this on your walkman/iPod for an existential enhancement to your daily commute...
