Trembling waves of noise from this master turntablist...
Blissful layering made from a box of old records found in the attic
Dense, textured noise and harmony from Tim Hecker.
Cinematic string parts and echo from Kompakt's Sebastian Meissner.
Field recordings and machine-made processes from Deepchord's Rod Modell.
Erik Skodvin and Otto Totland with a defining piece of widescreen engineering.
Sentimental ghost-like melodies and sheets of frayed deterioration...

crackling loops and malfunctioning film music from Norway's Pjusk.
Slowly bowed strings and subtle stereo effects - an arresting piece of ambience.
Decimated crescendo and catharsis from these veterans of the scene.
Distant solo piano battling malfunctioning distortion pedals...
Transformed and copied audio fragments from Carsten Nicolai.
For our money, one of the finest tracks To Rococo Rot have ever recorded...
Witching hour strings from Ryan Teague.

The '14 tracks' email I receive in my inbox is the first piece of advertising I have ever liked.

'14 tracks' is absolute genius!
Here's an idea for a list I'd love to see. '14 tracks for a sunrise' A list of feelgood songs to wake up to. I'm thinking along the lines of..oh...Knuddelmaus by Ulrich Schnauss for example. Something that will get you out of bed with a smile on your face! Or maybe '14 tracks for the road'?

Delicious to have these tracks playing in the background while working. During that time, I prefer musical compositions only without the distraction of words, yet I find that these wordless pieces evoke imagery so powerful that a lyric would only be superfluous.
I am always eager to see what the next "14 tracks" will bring. Bravo!

Why there is no link to the others 14 tracks with their respective names?
The words to type in the comments bar are not clear..Every years end you from Boomkat made a selection of the best albuns of the year, i would like to hear the best tracks from 2007(2006 AND SO ON) for example, surely it would be more them 14tracks thats why make it in 2 parts or more is necessary.

Another great selection. i disagree with Eduardo above. What sets 14 tracks apart from other sites that recommend tracks is that there aren't lists like "best tracks of 2007" or whatever, and instead there are selections of tracks that conjure up a particular mood or have a particular style that (and this is the most important part) you wouldn't usually find or think of. this is much better. thanks

Ops,,,
Tom Middleton (sea of glass track) is the name of one of the artists i type above.
I like to know(as others here) great music that i don't know, i dont see problems in 'best ofs', of course is cliché , but maybe another name for that..
By the way some weiiiird techno selection would be great!

“Let me tell you”
that I like a lot to receive this 14track info in my box, and it's probably one of the only newsletter wich get me excited and that I am waiting for !
In the suggesion area, I 've also some coments. Why not a 14T about Balkan scene, about african roots, about how to declare a love story, about how to end up a love story, about breathe, about Soul treasures... Could be also great to have 14T about covers with great songs... Maybe, another 14T selected by one of your custumer in the suscribed list (sort of lottery to be selector) ?
And the ultimate : A special priced package to get the full year compilation of 14T !!
PEace out,
c

Nice idea, but terrible execution. The download system is very clumsy; I didn't get all the artwork; and the track numbers are a mess (three tracks are listed as number '1', two as number '4', etc)... This isn't a difficult thing to do well, but this looks like it's been thrown together. Disappointing. (I'm using a Mac with iTunes, incidentally)

It would be great if you could set the14 tracks in a playlist like the boomkat site. One criticism I have is that when I do this I sometimes find myself listening to "the bleep" for some time before the next track kicks in.I don't know if other users experience the same thing.I often do other things while listening to music.

Have spent all my pocket money on so many of your tracks. Only heard of 2% of them so really excited.
Can you make the side scroll work both ways as it's a bit irritating having to scroll left all the time. Otherwise, keep up the good work.....
