This time on 14tracks:

“14 tracks: Thanet to Jodrell Bank”

We're heating up the Rover for a night drive from Thanet to Jodrell Bank, a fresh flask of tea on the (walnut effect) dash and 14 scenic soundscapes ready for the journey. Each of these tracks reflects the innate nuances and nature of British electronica, and were mostly produced in the UK - It's not just mainland Europeans who love to cruise the Autobahn listening to electronic music, you know! From Emptyset's brooding 'Departure', the road opens up to Thanet's 'By Day And By Night', a glorious stretch of eerily English ambient electronica. We couldn't avoid slipping in Gescom's seminal 'Sciew Spoc', a nightdrive favourite round our way, before stopping at an abandoned Happy Chef of the mind for Mordant Music's 'Travelogues 9'. Back en route, Jon Brooks nods to the inescapable German influence with the motorik 'Zukunft Als Konzept', and Leyland Kirby gazes onto the sprawling industrial/urban vista of 'Live For The Future, Long For The Past'. We cruise alongside zombied truckers to Philip Jeck's 'Pilot/Dark Blue Night', and as the drones of Dalglish seem to synch with the engine, Ekoplekz' 'Contrails' give a sharp airborne wake up. Coming to the end of our journey, gorgeous compositions from Daphne Oram and Mark Fell tingle up the spine, bringing us to our destination with music by Suum Cuique, Graham Massey's Massonix and an ambient rarity from Nurse With Wound to soundtrack your skyward thoughts...
