This time on 14tracks:

“14 tracks: Baby, go slow”

These 14 tracks identify a seam of bullet-timed grooves spread between House, Dubstep and Techno, all in thrall to that physical drag effect; kinda like dancing in a wind tunnel or those odd dreams where you're being chased by Techno viking through a swamp of molasses (or is that just us?). Recent years have seen the dancefloor pace plummet as producers continue to strive to skew conventions with energy-efficient engineering; dropping the tempo to up the groove. You can feel it in the after-effects of DJ Screw mixes, from W*tch House to Footwork to the implosive harnessing of halfstep and the sensuality of Detroit Beatdown. Here, that sense of malleable tension is stretched from Nicolas Jaar's squashed and sultry 'Space Is Only Noise...' to dBridge's quasi-speed 'Decayed' through the technoid deferment of James Kumo's anomalous 'Koma' and the deadly downstroke of Kassem Mosse's '2d'...
