This time on 14tracks:

“14 tracks for a Knew Age”

With tongue somewhere between cheek and chin we visit a subset of sounds inspired by notions of spirituality, space and consciousness, some vague, some ironic and all quite endearing. This particular sonic meme emerged from the possibilities of synthesizer music in the late '70s, chiefly by Brian Eno, Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Klaus Schulze (whether they'd lay claim to it or not), incorporating classical themes with ideas of environmentalism, meditation and ethnic field recordings laden with an evocative strain of sonic fiction. It's since provided ripe inspiration for a new generation of improvisors, noiseniks and searching producers such as Dolphins Into The Future, Dylan Ettinger and Stellar Om Source, whose proggy topographies have re-contextualized the sound with a blend of knowing charm and fractal, lo-fi psychedelia. These 14 tracks bridge an imaginary gap between Larri G's celestial vibrations and Expo '70s cosmic tranquility, yogic flying from Köhn's transcendental soundscapes to Jean Michel Jarre's ornate opulence, via the communal psych of Prince Rama and the pastoral dub bliss of Sun Araw.
