This time on 14tracks:

“14 tracks: An Industrial Fetish”

This week we follow our instincts towards the black light spectrum of Industrial dancefloors. We cross four decades of drum machine and synth music beating with a darker heart, from Chris Carter's seminal mid-late '70s experiments, to proto-typical techno from Dieter Moebius, Conny Plank and Mani Neumeier, via agitated EBM from Portion Control, through to modern interpretations like White Car's Industrial Funk, Peter Van Hoesen's New Beat upgrade and camp pounders from Mugwump and Daniel Maloso. There's a shifty, dystopian spirit invested in these tracks which has permeated clubs from Chicago to Antwerp and far beyond, owing much to the aesthetics of Sci-Fi and underground fetish scenes as a taste for raw, avant-electronics and pure body control. Crack the chaps out and get yer keys in the bowl, you could be in for a messy night.
