Classic mid-90's Artificial Intelligence from Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton...
Devastating tweaked tribalism, already caned by the likes of Anthony 'Shake' Shakir...
Dark, obliterated halfstepping variant.
Another classic mid 90's transmission, picked by Richie Hawtin for the 'Last song' compilation.
Frayed, hyper-compressed percussive slayer caned by Kode9, Martyn, The Bug, D-Bridge and DVA.
A pre Africa Hitech hookup between Pritchard and Spacek.
15-minute glide through early 90's electronica, lifted off one of the definitive records of the era.

Sublime lopsided and bass-heavy shuffling lullaby...
Anthemic destroyer from Pritchard and Om'Mas Keith of Sa-Ra Creative Partners.
Onomatopoeic shenanigans from the excellent Hitecherous set.
Epic slowcore beats and sludged production feat Phat Kat and Elzhi.
More euphoric brilliance from 1993...
Sublime Rhodes-nourished ambience, the opener for many a set by Mala.
Mark Pritchard and David Brinkworth, lifted off the fantastic Jon Brion inspired "Music For Film..."

Any idea whether you will bring the full length tracks back? It is rubbish not getting to preview the whole thing and means I'm far less likely to purchase. Don't ignore comments you don't like... Just tell us the truth.

I know this is perhaps not the right forum for such a posting, but I'd just like to wholeheartedly agree with Dan's comment. For a long time, Boomkat has been my go-to web destination for previewing new releases - and for making digital purchases of albums that have really impressed. The short preview "snippets" we're getting now are much less likely to get me to hand over my hard-earned... Please feel free to e-mail me privately if there's any particular reason for the change, otherwise, put the full tracks back and get my business again!

Yes - PLEASE work on getting full-length track previews back, or at least inform us about why you can't. These songs take time to build up, and they are often cut off before getting anywhere. It is frustrating and I'm sure you are losing business over it.

“Track Lengths”
Guys, the previews are 2 minutes long - that should be long enough for you to work out if you're into what you're listening to. Sure, not all tracks drop in 2 mins, but then other tracks aren't even 2 minutes long so on balance we think its a fair preview. Please remember that it is record labels and their suppliers who decide on how long they will allow previews to run for.

Agree, this is a problem with most music stores. It's also annoying not being able to scrub through the previews. IMHO, the gold standard is: www.whatpeopleplay.com
If they can do it right (Soundcloud style full length waveform, listen wherever you like) why can't everybody else?! Once again, the Germans show the rest of us how it's done...

You can always check Youtube or any other suitable websites (Discogs/ Vimeo etc etc) to see if the track is listed, I've been doing this for the last few weeks and find pretty much every track. Stop complaining and use your heads, obviously it is something to do with the record companies, every other site which sells tracks displays 1:30 to 2:00 samples. Why should Boomkat be different?
Quality tracks by the way.

I whollyheartedly agree about the track length thing. Yes, Robin, you can often find links on youtube or whatever, but that doesn't alter the fact that we had something that was taken away.. and that is annoying! Boomkat is still my go-to online shop, but truth is I'm buying less as navigating away to see if I like a track when it drops often sends me on a youtube mission.
With regard this 14 tracks though.. GREAT. Mark Pritchard is one of my favourite producers (I have most of these already) so it's good to see him getting a 14 Tracks to himself!

“It is what it is”
All this moaning about track previewing is getting silly. Yes Boomkat used to preview the full tracks, now they don't. They're not hiding the truth about why, like any other site it's down to the record labels. You're still getting 14 great tracks week in week out for a decent price, whats the problem? If you desperatley need to hear every second of every track before you buy it then use the wonder that is the interweb to find the damn thing and listen to it. I love 14 tracks as it introduces me to new genres and artists all the time, keep up the good work Boomkat

“great selection”
remember some tracks from back in the days, and learned some new ones. That's the purpose of this site I guess :)
On the whole track lenght thingy. I don't really mind if it's 'only' 2 minutes. All I want is a 'play all' button or something so I can do something else while deciding if I'm buying this weeks selection or not.

“1:30~2m is plenty long”
I disagree with you all - you don't need the whole track to decide if you like it or not. Before I started buying digital media, I would go into the record store, get a stack of vinyl and for each one I would know within 30 seconds or less if it suited my tastes or not. Same goes here - you should know if you love or hate a track pretty quickly!

“Just start the sample at the point”
About the track length, at Amazon.com for exemple, normaly they do not start music samples at the very begining but near the key point of the track, so , just overpass the long introductions.

“Long Enough For Me”
2 minutes seems plenty of time to me. If I'm not into it by then, I probably won't be. But for the price here, I'm willing to gamble on a couple of tracks.
And speaking of the tracks - great selection!
